Stephen Boltzman Apparatus.
Stephen Boltzman Apparatus
Stephen Boltzman Apparatus consists of a hemisphere which is
placed inside a tank; the hemisphere is immersed in water when water is
poured in the tank. The hemisphere has a cover with hole through which a
small copper disc can be located at the centre of hemisphere. Five
thermocouples are located on inner surface of the hemisphere while a
thermocouple is fitted on the copper disc. The inner surface of the
hemisphere as well as the test disc are coated with lamp black color.
Water inside the tank is heated by an immersion heater. A temperature
controller is provided for controlling the temperature of the water by
controlling the heater.
