Harvard Miniature Compactor-Astmd-18/1958- Engineering Lab Training Systems.
This is for determining the moisture -density relation of soils. In
this apparatus, the sample is compacted under kneading action of the
spring loaded temper set either at 20 Ibs. or 40 Ibs. As the sample
required is very small, a number of teets can be carried out, each time
taking a fresh sample and as the volume of the moulde is only 1/454 cu.
ft. the time required for compation is comparatively very much less. It
consists of mould 1.3 inch dia, x 2.8 inch height with collar and base
plate, Tamper, Coller remover and Sample efector.
