CAT NO: DIDACTICMAE-LAB-0105
Advanced automotive air-conditioning demonstration unit.
• The trainer unit is designed for demonstration of the operation and performance of automotive air-conditioning systems.
• The performance characteristics of the air-con can be simulated and results observed under various operating conditions including troubleshooting of common faults in automotive air-conditioning.
• The thermodynamic processes in the refrigeration cycle is explore in the experiments to provide deeper analysis of the system performance.
• The Automotive Air Conditioner Trainer consists of an after market type air conditioning unit mounted on to a simulated auto chassis and the compressor is driven by electric motor to simulate the vehicle engine.
• With the trainer the student is able to study operation of the air conditioning system as well as doing deeper analysis of thermodynamic process in the refrigeration cycle.
• Troubleshooting of common faults in the electrical components are possible
• Sight glasses are provided to observe the two states of the refrigerant in the high pressure discharge line, low pressure line suction line and liquid line.
• The unit is factory filled/charged with R134a type refrigerant which is an HFC non-ozone depleting gas and is in line with global emissions guidelines.
• High and low-side pressure service ports are provided to facilitate easy connection of a gauge set or for the recovery and re-charging of refrigerant.
• These ports are common type quick coupler type as would be found on many recent vehicles.
Specifications:
• Components includes: powder coated steel bench and after market automotive air conditioner, compressor with drive clutch, evaporator with blower, condenser with fan, electric drive motor for compressor, control panel with thermostat control and blower switch.
• All tubing and connections are provided for the operational system and pressure taps are included so as to facilitate measurements at key points.
• The 7 point digital temperature meter, volt meter, ampere meter and drive motor speed rpm meter are provided as standard instrumentation.
• A 12 volt DC power supply operates the compressor clutch, evaporator blower and condenser fan.
• The electrical drive motor is, approximately 2.2 kW rating (3 Hp).
MCB and ELCB are provided for safety and protection of residual current
